Internationally renowned choreographer Sang Jijia leads you through the ashes of time, to recreate the memories between you and me.
City Contemporary Dance Company (CCDC) is proud to present As If to Nothing, by the internationally renowned choreographer Sang Jijia in Japan and Taiwan. The production will first visit Niigata, Japan on 28 August 2015 at the Theater, RYUTOPIA Niigata City Performing Arts Center, before travelling to Taipei, Taiwan from 2 to 4 October 2015 at the Taipei National University of the Arts Dance Theatre.
Known for combining intense physical movement and unique rhythm, Sang Jijia has choreographed and performed for many well-known dance companies in Europe and Asia. As If To Nothing has won two 2010 Hong Kong Dance Awards (“Outstanding Dance Production” and “Outstanding Achievement in Choreography”), and was performed to great acclaim in Beijing, Guangzhou, Singapore and Florence.
As If To Nothing examines the passage of time in the stream of memories. Enter the maze of déjà vu, trapped by our own memories. In every delicate moment, memories seem so close and yet so far. It is slowly swallowed by time. Struggling between remembering and forgetting, scattered names, distorted faces, floating time, transforming scenes and familiar plots, what is left inside is emptiness. In this misplaced world, what is real? What is fake?
Featuring electronic music by Dickson Dee and video design by Adrian Yeung, As If To Nothing is an adrenaline-packed and interactive multimedia work. This tour-de-force is an extremely physical and emotional performance by the flagship contemporary dance company of Hong Kong. Let’s look for memories destroyed by time.

著名藏族編舞家桑吉加，帶你穿越時光之門，重塑你我他的那段曾經
香港城市當代舞蹈團（CCDC）獲邀參與日本新潟國際舞蹈節，將於2015年8月28日假新潟市民藝術文化會館，上演由譽滿歐美的藏族編舞家桑吉加編創的《那一年．這一天》。
進入失衡的境界，記憶如網羅張開。在每個微妙的瞬間，記憶似有還無、虛無縹緲，難以捉摸，以致記憶漸漸被時間吞噬；在記得與忘記之間，散亂的名字、扭曲的臉孔、浮動的時間、變換的場景、熟悉的情節，遺下一股無力感，叫人難以判斷，在交錯的時空下，記憶，孰真、孰假？
桑吉加被譽為「最完美的舞者」，編舞以激烈澎湃及韻律獨特見稱，曾獲歐亞多個知名舞團邀請創作及演出，於國際舞蹈藝術範疇中享負盛名。其流麗的肢體語彙配合李勁松充滿張力的電子音樂，在楊振業重重互動錄像交織中，CCDC舞者於設計靈動而獨特的舞台上演繹這個充滿爆發力的作品，並與觀眾一起尋找被時間摧毀的記憶。桑吉加憑《那一年．這一天》於 2010香港舞蹈年獎中獲頒「最值得表揚編舞」及「最值得表揚製作」兩個獎項，此作更曾獲邀到北京、廣州、新加坡及佛羅倫斯上演，好評如潮。
新潟國際舞蹈節匯集了三個東亞舞蹈團：香港CCDC、日本Noism0及韓國大邱市立舞蹈團，盡顯三種獨特魅力。8月23日假新潟縣民會館更設有座談，邀得亞洲三個舞團藝術總監包括CCDC藝術總監曹誠淵先生主講，探討亞洲舞蹈團的未來發展。
《那一年．這一天》由城市當代舞蹈團呈獻，乃新潟國際舞蹈節參與節目。門票現於RYUTOPIA Ticket Office及e-plus發售。

關於城市當代舞蹈團（CCDC）
城市當代舞蹈團是香港首個全職專業現代舞團，於1979年由曹誠淵創立，以體現香港當代文化及推動當代舞蹈發展為宗旨。三十六年來，舞團保留了超過二百齣本土編舞家的完整舞碼，包括曹誠淵、黎海寧、梅卓燕、潘少輝及伍宇烈等作品，也經常與其他媒介藝術家合作，展現多元化的香港文化特色。每年演出逾六十多場，參與人數超過五萬人次。
自1980年以來，舞團開展頻密的國際文化交流活動，先後代表香港在美洲、歐洲、澳洲及亞洲共三十多個主要城市，進行了二百三十五場海外演出，備受國際藝壇重視。
除了「立足香港、匯聚華人菁英、創造當代中國舞蹈」的藝術路線之外，舞團也積極推動舞蹈教育工作，於2004年成立CCDC舞蹈中心，繼續發揚以往的舞蹈教育、舞蹈外展計劃、社區表演及藝術推廣等工作。每年提供四十多場的外展表演、現代舞、芭蕾舞、爵士舞及中國舞等不同類型的舞蹈訓練，受眾超過四萬人。自1998年開始，舞團在國內推行「中國舞蹈發展計劃」，為國內正在萌芽的現代舞團體提供行政與技術支援，並於內地與北京雷動天下現代舞團及廣東現代舞團合辦多個極具影響力的現代舞節，鼓勵內地新晉舞蹈家進行探索性創作。
關於桑吉加
桑吉加被譽為「最完美的舞者」，是德國法蘭克福芭蕾舞團藝術總監威廉．科西的入室弟子。二十三歲贏得巴黎國際現代舞大賽現代舞男子獨舞金牌；二十四歲獲頒廣東省「跨世紀之星」之稱；二十七歲獲「勞力士創藝推薦資助計劃」獎學金，赴德國習舞，並先後在法蘭克福芭蕾舞團及科西舞團擔任助理編舞及演員。2006年回國，為北京雷動天下現代舞團、廣東現代舞團及香港城市當代舞蹈團（CCDC）創作長篇舞作，包括《無以名狀》、《火柴人》、《那一年．這一天》、《前定的暗色》及《重置》。桑吉加也與世界各地的頂尖藝術家及舞團合作，2013年為挪威Carte Blanche當代舞團編創《不在／不再》，並於歐洲多國巡演，迴響不絕。桑吉加現為CCDC駐團編舞。
